Organist and Choir Director: Dan Krymkowski

Born and raised in the Milwaukee area, Dan Krymkowski earned B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison during the 1980s.  From 1991 until his retirement in 2023, he was Professor of Sociology at UVM, where his work focused on social inequality.  He is currently writing a new book entitled Religion, Politics, and Irrationality in American Life.  Music in a variety of forms has been an important part of his life since childhood, and from 2003-2019 he was organist and choir director at Waterbury Center Community Church.  Dan has been the organist at FPC Barre since 2019, a member of the church since 2020, a member of Session since 2021, and on the Presbytery’s Committee on Representation since 2021.  Dan’s wife of 42 years is Rebecca Mueller, who is the director of the Richmond Free Library.  Their daughter, Anastasia, is an actuary in Boston, and their son, Aaron, is an environmental scientist who works for the State of Vermont.  Dan’s ancestry is English, Polish, and Scottish (Fraser clan).  Dan enjoys beaches, bridge, biking on rail trails, and model railroading.

Pianist: Alison Cerutti

Alison Cerutti, a Vermont native, holds two degrees in piano performance from the Oberlin Conservatory and the Hartt School of Music. She enjoys making music in various chamber groups and with her family, who have been contributing musically to the Zoom church services over the past few months. Her husband Neil contributes his voice regularly and also directs the Green Mountain Chorus, Vermont’s barbershop chorus, as well as occasionally singing with Counterpoint and in the Gilbert and Sullivan productions at Unadilla Theatre. Emma also has sung for church and has performed in shows both at her school and at Unadilla. Anna, the youngest, sings also, and is most comfortable singing duets with her sister.

Cindy is semi-retired and lives with her husband, John and daughter Tammy.  Cindy and John have been married for 46 years.  They have two adult children and two adorable grandchildren, Brienne and Daxton. Cindy loves to babysit, read cozy mysteries, play cards, kayak and golf. Cindy is of Italian, Irish and Scottish decent. (Gun clan).  Cindy attends the Christ Community Alliance Church, where she sometimes helps out in the office as needed.
