The Outreach Committee provides for specific opportunities to care for people within and beyond the walls of our church as well as contributing financially to the ministry and work of many organizations.
4th Saturday, Every Wednesday, and 3rd Sunday Breakfast Meal Program:
FPC is blessed to be part of a network of churches that makes these meals happen. We participate by providing regular food offerings in our community. There are folks from our church and the wider community who regularly participate. If you would like to be one of them, please contact the church office.
A group from our church has gone on mission trips to New Orleans, South African Partnership trips to South Africa, and youth go on biennial mission trips, most recently to Atlanta and Miami (upcoming).
The Outreach Committee also provides financial aid, either directly or through the General Mission portion of the church budget, to local agencies: Circle, the Greater Barre Community Justice Center, People’s Health and Wellness Clinic, Our House, The Good Samaritan Haven, and Habitat for Humanity to name a few.
Outreach provides oversight and promotion of the following: One Great Hour of Sharing, a PC(USA) offering received at Easter; Peacemaking, a PC(USA) offering for local programs, Presbytery programs, and National Peacemaking support received on Worldwide Communion Sunday in October; and the Christmas Joy Offering, a PC(USA) offering
The Adult Study meets Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 a.m. from September through May. Open to all, topics of study range from Bible study, to faith and politics, prayer and spirituality.
